All Age Worship - Sunday 8th July

Still reflecting on how God touches us through music especially the music in today’s service.
I’m not sure what the odds are of us having a visitor in our congregation this morning from Liverpool…a visitor from Liverpool who was present at the Hillsborough disaster…and who cannot listen to the song “You’ll never walk alone” without tears and painful memories…but I imagine the odds are very small.

We also sang “When the saints go marching in” a song I haven’t been able to sing for 4 years as it was the final tribute played at my husband’s funeral. I simply felt I had to include it today.

I think in the midst of the joy this morning for two of us at least God said …I’m here..I know the memories these songs bring, some of them are painful to you…..But in the midst of that pain and grief I am still here with you and I always will be.
